The Delivered Flower

by Dana Ludeking "DNatureofDTrain"

I woke up this morning and thought of my love

And prepared to drive to the mall.

My car, as it seems had a mind of it's own.

It died, my excitement did fall.

So I put on my tennies, the comfortable ones,

They're really some very old beaters.

And just for the sake of public contact, 5

I inserted some new Oder Eaters.

Through mud and the snow my journey did take me,

Past houses, and one loose pit bull.

So I picked up my speed as I ran past this beast,

By now my pants they were full.

But on I did run with my heart full of love,

And I finally arrived at the florist

And asked for a rose a perfect red rose,

For the one who I really adorest.

But as the clerk sold me my beautiful rose,

He grunted and wrinkled his nose.

"You smell, "said the clerk, "I'll deliver your flower."

I consented, it's for the best, I suppose.
